Laibach

Laibach is a band that hardly needs any introduction. The Slovenian art collective, founders of the Neue Slovenische Kunst movement and creators of the term 'retro-avant-garde', have been active since 1980 and have been specialising for decades in provocative imagery and perverting symbols, with the goal of making their audience think about the propaganda people start to consider to be  completely normal after enough exposure.

The band was founded in 1980 and is regularly releasing new work, in which they reflect on the political and cultural history of the European continent. The most recent albums are 'Wir sind das Volk', a retrospective of the poetry of Heiner Müller, released 2022, and 'Sketches of the Red District', in which they look back at their origins in a small miner town under an oppressive regime, released early 2023.

In 2024, the band is available for festival shows, bringing a 'best of'-set including old and new songs, but also for venue shows during the 'Opus Dei Revamped' tour, in which they update and upgrade their classic 1987 album.

A very extensive description of the band's history can be found here.
